Terms & Conditions

1. Bed Tax: An 11% bed tax will be added to your bill and collected for the City of Seward and Kenai Peninsula Borough.
2. Check In/ Check Out: Check in begins at 3pm. An early check in fee can be applied for $50 if your room is available. If you plan on arriving after 9pm or later please make arrangements with the property one day prior to your arrival as our lobby closes at 9pm. Check out is to be no later than 11am. On failure of the guest to vacate the room upon the scheduled date and time management shall have the right to remove the guest and his/her belongings from the room. A late check out fee of $50 will also be applied. However, this fee can be waived if the room is still available and guest would like to say another night, additional rate and taxes will be applied or the guest will like a 2pm check out time.
3. Luggage Storage: Subject to availability of the storage space, guest may store luggage on the day of check in or check out, at the guest's sole risk as to loss or damage from any cause, for up to 12 hours for a fee of $5 per bag.
4. Guest's Belongings: Guests are advised to lock the door of their room's when going out or going to bed. Management will not in any way be responsible for any loss or damage to the guest's belongings or any other property from the hotel room or any other part of the hotel for any cause including theft or pilferage.
5. Pets: Van Gilder Hotel does not allow pets of any kind.
Please be advised that, in accordance with current regulations and our operational guidelines, emotional support animals are not classified as service animals. Consequently, they are not permitted in rooms or common areas within our premises. Service dogs will be permitted.
5a. If any persons is found to have brought in an unauthorized pet, or animal, there will be a starting minimum charge of $250, as well as any further damage charges. Guest will also need to vacate the premise immediately upon discovery.
6. Noise/Disturbance: The hotel has a strict no tolerance disturbance policy. If for any reason the hotel deems it necessary, the offending party or parties will be asked to leave the premises and no refunds will be issued.
7. Damage to Property: The guest will be held responsible for any loss or damage to the hotel property caused by themselves, their guests or any person whom they are responsible for, and costs or repair and replacement of damaged or lost hotel property will be charged to the guest.
8. Relation between Management and Guest: Nothing herein above shall continue or be deemed to constitute, or create any tenancy or sub-tenancy, or any other right to interact in the hotel premises or any part or portion thereof, in favor of any Guest or resident or visitor, and Management shall always be deemed to be in full and absolute possession of the whole of the hotel premises.
9. Government rules and regulations and application of laws: Guest shall observe, abide by, conform to and be bound by all applicable acts, laws, and Government rules and regulations while on hotel property.
10. Smoking Policy: Hotel maintains a strict "no smoking" policy. Smoking is forbidden inside hotel establishment. A $250 cleaning fee will be charged to guest credit card if evidence of smoking inside room is discovered upon check out.
11. Lost Hotel Keys: In the event that hotel key is lost or stolen or accidentally taken, guest will be charged a $100 fee for rekeying of the door.
